14 Day Pre-Spring Challenge: Sky

Despite loving sky blue polishes, I felt remarkably uninspired when I read that “sky” was the prompt for today.

After spending most of last night and a good part of this morning dreaming up a design this is what I finally settled on.

I love hot air balloons. I’ve never been for a ride in one, but I like how they are shaped and the lovely colors. There’s just something about them that imparts a feeling of happiness for me.

I used two coats of Julep Claire as my base color. For the balloon I started with a general balloon shape using OPI Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! and then added the chevron stripes using Julep Blake, Ciate Headliner, and Sinful Colors Thimbleberry. For the clouds I used a dotting tool with Sinful Colors Snow Me White. The bird silhouettes were done with Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! as well.

When I was done it felt like something was still missing so I added some “silver linings” to my clouds with Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty.
